Launching of OGP Project
The Project “Increasing Governance Effectiveness in Vietnam through the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Initiative” funded by the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-implemented by Transparency International (TI) and Towards Transparency (TT), has been launched on 22 November 2017 in Hanoi. This project continues TT’s commitments to work together with government and civil society organisations in the cause of anti-corruption in Vietnam
The project is a timely intervention that sets forth initial steps for policy advocacy for Vietnam to meet the OGP eligibility criteria. Working towards increasing government openness and transparency in fighting against corruption in Vietnam, this project aims to contribute to accelerating Vietnam’s ongoing governance reforms in i) Access to information; ii) Fiscal transparency; iii) Assets disclosure by public officials, and iv) Citizen participation.
The event was attended by the Belgian MOFA Secretary General Mr. Dirk Achten, the Belgian Ambassador Mrs. Jehanne Roccas, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Vien – TT’s Executive Director as well as other participants from TI/TT and Vietnamese civil society organizations.
