ANNOUNCEMENT

 Hanoi, 21 December 2021

Towards Transparency (TT) is the National Contact of Transparency International in Vietnam, working to prevent and fight corruption.

In recent years, thanks to the continued efforts of the Vietnamese Communist Party and the State, the anti-corruption agenda in Vietnam has achieved remarkable results. The legal framework has been improved with the adoption of the amended Anti-corruption Law (2018), the Law on Access to Information (2016), and various legal documents. Many high-profile corruption cases have been brought to court, and an unprecedented number of high-ranking corrupt officials have been prosecuted nationwide.

With the support of our partners and in cooperation with the State agencies, TT has enjoyed valuable opportunities to contribute towards an enhanced culture of integrity and transparency and to partake in improving Vietnam’s anti-corruption legal framework. TT is proud that the values of integrity and transparency – crucial for corruption prevention, have gradually become accepted, adopted, and implemented in society and state agencies.

Those achievements are partly attributable to TT’s tireless effort to reflect and innovate its own activities to curb difficulties and challenges, especially the hardships posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a small but dynamic organization, TT always feels the need to keep improving so it could become more effective in navigating ongoing challenges. With the view to re-organizing, and after consulting relevant stakeholders, TT and its Board of Advisors have decided to halt its activities as of 1 January 2022.

We are grateful for the continuous support provided by our partners from the State and international development agencies, civil society organizations, businesses, the media, and the public.

All contacts with TT shall continue to be made through:
